Fritz eenOswald

Een ontzettend leuke Oswald klok, in de vorm van een Uil op een boek, Kunsstof gegoten en nabewerkt, het boek is overigens van hout. Gemaakt door "De Oswald Company" in het Zwarte woud in Duitsland.
Uurwerkje loopt ca. 30 uur, de tijd is af te lezen aan de stand van de ogen, het linker oog geeft de uren aan en het rechter oog de minuten. Met enige oefening kun je zo dagelijks de tijd bij benadering aflezen.

Clockmaker Fritz Oswald made at first the novelty clocks with rotating eyeballs, with one displaying the hours and the other displaying the minutes. They can look cute or completely deranged depending on what time it is. These clocks were later made by the Oswald company in the Freiburg area, in Germany’s Black Forest, from the early 1920s until they finally ceased production in the 1960s. Before World War II, most rolling-eye clocks, were made of wood. Then, as technology advanced in the 1950s and '60s, they began to be made from molded plaster. The dog-shaped clocks are the most common, with the J. Oswald Company patenting them in 1926.  In addition to dogs and skulls, you can also find clocks shaped like  genies, owls, and even monkeys. After the J. Oswald Company stopped manufacture, knockoffs appeared as others copied the designs in the 1960s and 1970s, but the classic Oswald clocks are still collector's items.
